What is CV?

CV - this is a document written by yourself, which allows you to present your own skills and abilities, both in professional and personal plans. It is also an opportunity to tell about your achievements and uniqueness, which may be implemented and even serve as a basis for employment in the desired position, in order to obtain moral or material compensation.

4 main principles

№1. Shortness

Do not be afraid remain unnoticed. On the other hand, you can "overwhelm" a person with information.

№2. Specificity

Write correctly all the dates or names of the organizations that matter. All information must be relevant..

№3. Truthfulness

It is not necessary to invent and reinvent new skills, attribute to itself any unfinished courses and talk about those achievements, which did not exist in reality. It should be guided by one simple rule: "All the secrets sooner or later become apparent."

№4. Selectivity

While composing your CV, aimed at the "conquest" particular position, it is not necessary to specify all parallel achievements. For example, if you are interested in the vacancy of economist, and previously, by sheer luck, you finished cooking classes, or learned how to do nails, then it is not necessary to stress this out.

CV STRUCTURE

Personal data of the applicant

Contact information (address, phone, e-mail). City of residence. It is also desirable to specify the age – if it's in your favor (in spite of the legal prohibition of discrimination based on sex, age, etc., many hr's are wary of "mature" candidates). Personal data can be a photo, as well. This is particularly important for the positions where appearance plays an important role: manager, operations manager, sales promoter.

87% of employers prefer a CV with a photo.

Preferences for future job

The name of the position for which you are applying (the same, as declared by the employer). If you are interested in several jobs, you need to write a separate cv for each of them. You can specify the desired minimum level of wages, and be sure to mention it - the starting salary.

Working experience

List in reverse chronological order (the last place in the top of the list), all the places of work. Specify the period of work, name of the company, its scope of activities, position, range of responsibilities and achievement. If working experience is too extensive, limit 3-4 last jobs or describe the most significant experience. While describing achievements use action verbs such as: developed, increased, reduced or saved. Use numbers and percentages stand out favorably in the summary. For example, increased sales by 25%, carried out a sales plan for 300 000 rubles.

Education

The more time has passed after graduation, the less space the paragraph should occupy in a resume. First, select an education that allows you to apply for this position. Information about the further education (training programs) are relevant only if they are linked with the vacancy.

It is important to specify: instead of "computer knowledge" - write specific programs. Also with languages -clarify what you can - to speak freely, to read technical literature or to conduct business correspondence. Less flattering self: "a great experience", "teamwork". It is desirable that the manager himself made the necessary conclusions from your cv.
